Note: Special Town Meeting attracted 269 voters, for a standing room only turnout at Town Hall.

 To any Constable of the Town of Lancaster in the County of Worcester,

GREETINGS:

 In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Lancaster qualified to vote in the elections and Town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall Auditorium, 695 Main Street, in said Lancaster on Monday, the twelfth day of June, at 7:00 o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following Articles:

ARTICLE 1
Finance Committee

 To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from FY2000 Reserve Fund to the Stabilization Fund, or act in any manner relating thereto.  Recommendation from the floor.

ARTICLE 2
Finance Committee

 To see if the Town will vote to transfer $208,265 from the Stabilization Fund to supplement the Nashoba Regional School District Assessment (Budget Line #80), as voted under Article 4 of the May 1, 2000 Annual Town Meeting, for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2000, or act in any manner relating thereto.  Recommended.

ARTICLE 3
Board of Public Works
Water Enterprise Fund

 To see if the Town will vote to take $300,000 from Water Enterprise Available Funds to be expended by the Board of Public Works and Board of Selectmen for water system capital improvements, or act in any manner relating thereto.  Recommended.
Approved unanimously

ARTICLE 4
Board of Selectmen

 To see if the Town will vote to borrow $570,000 to design, construct and furnish a combined Police Station and Communications Center, said borrowing contingent upon the successful passage of a debt exclusion ballot question in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 59, section 21C(j)(k), or act in any manner relating thereto.  Recommendation from the floor.
Moved with figure of $450,000 (additional $120,000 to be allocated from prison mitigation funds by Board of Selectmen in addition to $1.6 million already allocated from mitigation funds)

ARTICLE 5
Board of Selectmen
Lancaster School Building Committee

 To see if the Town will vote to borrow $3,860,286, in addition to the $21,291,731 previously authorized, for the purpose of constructing a new elementary school and for the expansion and renovation of the Middle School, including the design costs thereof and all cost incidental thereto, said additional borrowing contingent upon the successful passage of a debt exclusion ballot question in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 59, section 21C(j)(k), or act in any manner relating thereto.  Recommended.

 And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at the South Lancaster Post Office, the Center Post Office, the Brick Meeting House and the Town Hall, in said Town fourteen days at least before the time for holding said meeting.  Hereof fail not and make due return of the Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting aforesaid.
